Bhubaneswar, Nirapakhya Khabar:03/06/26: Odisha delivered an outstanding performance at the 11th Senior National Minigolf Championship held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, by winning an impressive total of 20 medals and reinforcing the state’s growing stature in niche sports.
The Odisha contingent showcased remarkable skill, consistency, and determination throughout the championship, securing 5 Gold, 6 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals. The team also emerged as the top performer in the Women’s category, marking a significant achievement for the state.
Odisha’s athletes produced several notable performances across different categories. In the Speed Minigolf Mixed Doubles event, Bikash Chandra Pattnaik and Aastha Pattnaik clinched the Gold medal with an exceptional display of coordination and precision.
The state also dominated the Knockout Minigolf events. Asima Sahoo and Subhalaxmi Satapathy secured Gold in the Women’s Doubles category, while Aanika Pattnaik captured Gold in the Women’s Individual category. Lata Samarath added to Odisha’s medal tally by winning Bronze in the same event.
In team competitions, Odisha’s Women’s Team — comprising Abhipsa Panda, Soumyashree Rath, Aanika Pattnaik, Lata Samarath, Asima Sahoo, and Subhalaxmi Satapathy — earned the Silver medal after a strong performance throughout the tournament.
Odisha also achieved success in mixed and men’s team categories. Bikash Chandra Pattnaik and Abhipsa Panda secured Bronze in the Knockout Mixed Doubles event. The Men’s Team, represented by Bikash Chandra Pattnaik, Kumar Devadutta, Kumar Devjeet, Naitik Kumar Agrawal, Ankit Pradhan, and Harshil Sahu, brought home Bronze with a determined effort.
Following the remarkable achievement, the leadership of the Minigolf Association of Odisha, including President Dr. Satyabrata Minaketan, Vice President Prasenjeet Pati, and Joint Secretary Pradyumna Behera, congratulated the athletes and coaching staff for their exceptional performance.
Officials from the Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha, also lauded the players for their dedication and for bringing pride to the state through their success at the national level.
